User Acquisition Strategy

Organic search is the main channel. The website is a programmatic SEO surface: one indexable page per forecast region, server-rendered, in 6 languages with hreflang and a dynamic sitemap — a page that ranks for "avalanche forecast <region>" in the language the skier actually searches in. Region pages carry the live danger level, so they stay fresh through the season and give a reason to return daily. Country hub pages and regional software pages are the next expansion of that surface. The site is the funnel, the app is the conversion: every region page ends in an App Store CTA that deep-links back into the same region in the app. The tracked funnel is region page → store badge → install, broken down by country, so we can see which regions actually convert rather than which ones just get traffic. Domain authority is built through curated startup and SaaS directories rather than link buying — SaaSHub, Crunchbase, SideProjectors, PromoteProject, Startup Fame, StartuPage — each verified for a dofollow link and logged. App Store search does the rest: the app is listed in 11 languages, which is where non-English backcountry queries land. Demand is seasonal and hemispheric — Europe and North America December–April, New Zealand and South America June–October. Because Avycast covers 30+ services worldwide, one product serves both peaks, and acquisition work is timed to the hemisphere entering its season. No paid acquisition so far. The product is free to use with a premium subscription on top, so growth is retention-driven: a skier who checks the bulletin every morning of the season is the whole model.
